The ending few minutes of Sidney Lumet's "Failsafe". This film has virtually the same plot as "Dr. Strangelove" but is very serious and dark. Failsafe was a failure at the box office in comparison to "Strangelove", but was given excellent reviews.…

Dr. Strangelove and the Cold War

The Cold War era is one that I am becoming quickly and deeply interested in. Mutual assured destruction. Two world powers with massive nuclear arsenals and launching capabilities pointing their ICBM's at targets in each other's territories. Each side is paranoid and suspicious of the other. Fields, Factories, and Fumes

I knew I wanted to do something involving agricultural history when it came to this soundscape project. I figured the tobacco industry in NC would be a good idea. What I wound up doing was going to Duke Homestead in Durham to get some original sounds... I recorded the sounds of their tobacco field, and the audio presentations of tobacco auctions and a Lucky Strike cigarrette commercial that can be heard in their visitor's center.
